Hi.. Welcome to my website
My name is Ryan Sigwulf Jacobsen, I am a hobby photographer with a great passion for nature, outdoorliving, fishing, extreme weather and fine beer.
For me being out in nature is what matters most, this is where I feel at home and I can relax.
I grew up in the western parts of Denmark about as far from any major city as one can get in a relatively small country, thus I had nature just outside my door and during my childhood and teen years I spent almost all of my free time running around in the forest looking for plants, insects and small animals, or fishing for rainbowtrout and browntrout in the nearby creek. Back then nature was the most important thing for me and I just could not imagine living in a place where I did not have nature close to me.
When I turned 18 I moved to a big city to be closer to my friends, and in that period, from my late teen years to the middle of my twenties, I went through the same period as most boys do at that age, where partying, cars and girls where the main thing in my life, but the truth is that I never really felt at home in that time, I missed the outdoors, I missed fishing and I missed running around in the forest, so slowly I kind of distanced my self from the big city life.
I bought myself an slr camera, a Nikon F60 with a 28-80mm lens, dusted off my fishing and outdoorgear and started heading out in nature again.
It is all about being out there.
As I have written on the frontpage of my website, it is all about nature. Kind of a cliche maybe but for me it really is all about being out there in nature, I love being in the forest or walking on the banks of a creek or stream. My camera, my fishing rod, my tent, these are all just tools I use when I am out, the main thing is to be there, and allthough I spend a lot of time photographing or fishing I often enjoy just as much to just sit down, with a cup of coffee, and just listen to the sounds of the forest or the running water, or watching animals run around or fish chasing insects on the surface, or simply just sit still or take a little nap on the soft mossy forest floor.
I can easily come home from a whole day in the forest or at the creek and not having taken one single photo or caught one single fish, and be just as happy and fullfilled as I would if I had taken a winningphoto or caught a record fish.
I really feel at home when I am out in nature.
